We are looking for an experienced Medical Coder to join our team. This position is for someone detail oriented and enjoys working both independently and as a team.
This candidate should have knowledge of Pain / Anaesthesia and Coding with a proven work history of scrubbing claims prior to submission. Additional responsibilities working on denial management. Knowledge of payer policies and appeal processes are also necessary.
Receive and review patient charts and documents for accuracy
Report missing or incomplete documentation
Ensure proper coding on provider documentation
Medical Coding Certificate; CPC by AAPC license; meet state licensure requirements
Maintain coding certification and attends in-service training as required
Strong Anaesthesia coding background
Familiarity with ASA coding concepts
Understanding of physical status and concurrency rules
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Goal-oriented, organized team player
3+ years of medical coding experience
Pain Management and Anaesthesia billing experience recommended
Certified biller or coder preferred
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10— CM coding/Certification
Strong EMR and computer experience
Ability to work with clients and staff as a team member
