Position: Child Rights & Protection Program Manager

Assignment Type: Renewable three year contract

Responsibilities

Job Background: The Child Rights & Protection Program Manager will lead and manage the Child Rights and Protection Programme of Plan Myanmar. S/He will play a key role in developing the Child Protection Strategy and ensures that this programme is well planned, evidence based, monitored and evaluated.  S/He will also develop the capabilities of Plan staff and partners to support the achievement of CR&P programme goals. The CR&P Programme Manager will be the Child Protection Policy Focal Point and hasthe delegated responsibility for coordinating the implementation of the Child Protection Policy. Other aspects of the role include partnership management, planning, M&E, representation and liaison. Implementation of Plan’s programs will be almost exclusively through local Myanmar partners and NGOs.  This position is based full-time in Yangon with 30% filed travel.

 

Job Purpose: Establishment of Child Rights & Protection program strategy in cooperation with programme staff and others • Identify and assess local partners for program implementation • Build capacity of partners as required • Annual planning • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of • Child Rights and Protection programs by partners • Insure reporting and program related donor requirement are timely and of a high quality • Facilitate learning and knowledge management. Represent Plan Myanmar in various Child Rights and Protection forums • Liaison with the Government regarding child Rights and Program issues

Requirements

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Citizen of Myanmar • Minimum Five years of demonstrated professional experience leading and managing major Child Rights and Protection programs in Myanmar • Extensive experience assessing, building capacity, monitoring and cooperating with local NGOs • Good knowledge of community development and Child Rights and Protection Sector in Myanmar • Experience in implementing donor-funded projects • Track record of participation, training, facilitation and awareness raising • Experience of working with children and communities is an advantage •  Academic degree in relevant area • Excellent English language skills, both oral and written • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment •  Strong team-building and facilitation skills • Excellent communication skills • Proficient in computer skills
