Humanitarian Project Officer - CPiE

Plan is an international  humanitarian, child-centred development organisation, implementing programs that promote the realisation and fulfilment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty. Plan Myanmar is planning to expand its work to include an emergency response in Rakhine State and is seeking Humanitarian Project Assistant  (CPiE) as part of this project. These positions are contingent  upon a successful grant award. The positions are based in Sittwe and Minbya,  Rakhine State and will require travel to IDP camps and adjacent communities.

Responsibilities

The Job purpose:

 

The EiE Assistant will work closely with CiE Officer’s  in the implementation of CPiE activities as well as monitoring and reporting in Rakhine. The EiE Assistant will work with communities and closely support CFS animator from Child Friendly Space (CFS) and community mobilizer from flood affected area. She/he will assist the CPiE Officer  to organize training for animator, community mobilizer, undertake regular daily visits to all CFS in different  camps, monitoring visit and  support to community mobilizer in mobile case meanagement and submit reports on their status, keep track of material and support needs in CFS and villages and arrange for timely delivery of materials. At all times he/she will coordinate and collaborate with the EiE Officer and Camp Management  Committees.  This position  will be based in Sittwe with frequent travel to Minbya.

Requirements

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Minimum two years of proven experience working in child protection in emergencies projects or programmes
  • Strong experience in child protection policies and practices in Myanmar
  • Experience using monitoring and evaluation
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Do No Harm and conflict sensitivity approaches
  • Demonstrated understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context including Sphere, the humanitarian system, security and field level project management
  • Academic degree in education, social science, development studies or other relevant area
  • Proven ability to supervise a child protection project with holistic and integrated approach.
  • Good English language and computer skills.
  • Strong team-building and facilitation skills
