In 2012 we expanded our practice by opening up a branch office in Yangon. Myanmar is undergoing transformational change. Our Yangon office supports local business leaders and international investors pursuing opportunities in Myanmar.
Charltons works in cooperation with highly regarded local lawyers to offer clients an extensive suite of legal services. Our goal is to combine international best practice with local knowledge to help our clients formulate and put in place the local strategies that best match their business needs and goals. Lawyers from our Hong Kong office travel to Myanmar on a regular basis. We also offer secondment positions to Myanmar lawyers seeking to gain valuable practice experience in Hong Kong or the PRC.
The Charltons team in Myanmar advise on a wide range of general corporate matters including but not limited to the establishment of operations (together with all relevant applications to government departments and agencies), on-going fillings, company secretarial services, the establishment of joint ventures, local due diligence, offshore investment structures, share subscriptions in local companies (together with the establishment of trust arrangements where applicable) and investment in the natural resources sector.

Handling budgets

Collaborate with staff and IT support to leverage the firm’s IT assets and solve a problem.
Handle accounting tasks on a daily basis, manage cash flow, prepare cheques and payments, records of expenses and income & manage overdue accounts
Tenancy renewal, insurance coordination, BR and other routine administration function
Supporting superior in reviewing company policies and other business terms
Organizing entire logistics for staff events
Handling various ad hoc administrative and facilities projects
Preferably Burmese with a good command of English (Chinese is a plus)
2 years of work experience
Associate Degree required (BA or BS preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint in particular)
Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and payroll
Comfort with a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with attorneys, staff, and clients
Professional appearance and manner
Self-motivated, can work well independently
Proactive, mature, detail-oriented
